My Trip to NOLA

APRIL 13TH – 16TH

JASMINE’S B-DAY TRIP

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

Who knew New Orleans had palm trees?

I was pumped about this mini vacay but even more pumped about the food. I LOVE spicy food so as soon as I deboarded the plane, I ordered a big bowl of shrimp and grits and a mimosa of course.

Let’s get a closer look, shall we?

This had to have been the best airport food I’ve ever tasted. I literally scraped the bowl clean and was tempted to order another mimosa but didn’t. I was saving myself and my pockets for the actual trip. We were only in town for 3 days so I wanted to make it well worth it.

Day 1

We were finally all checked into the airbnb which was super nice. We changed out of our travel clothes and made our way to Bourbon Street. We were less than 3 blocks away from everything!

We kept stopping to take pictures lol

Day 2

We were all excited about the swamp tour! I tried doing some research prior but none of us really knew what to expect. Jas asked us all to bring a pair of old sneakers to wear just in case we got dirty so I made sure I followed the rules.

The swap was about 40 minutes or so away from where we were staying. We caught the shuttle and got dropped off at the loading dock. Once we were all checked in, we got on the boat and took off into the swamp.

Day 3

Jas planned a brunch for our last day of the trip at a restaurant called “Brown Butter”. The food was pretty good but the mimosas were better.

After brunch, we changed into something a little more comfortable and walked around town. We spotted lots of artwork and live street performers. We ended up meeting up with a few people from the area who took us to a beer and wine restaurant outside! I wish places like this existed on Baltimore 😩

They even treated us to some craw-fish which were AMAZING 😛 That was my first time trying craw-fish by the way. I had no idea New Orleans had seafood as good as Maryland.

The Looks

Victoria Beckham Mint Green Lace Bomber Jacket: Target

Victoria Beckham Mint Green Pleated Lace Shorts: Target

Toe Ring Sandals: Tory Burch

Ann Klein Messenger Bag: TJ Maxx

Orange Shades: StayxShaded

Holly Printed Mesh Off-the-Shoulder Bodysuit: Boohoo

Yellow Skort with Slits: Zara

Simple Strap Sandal: Aldo (old)

I didn’t get a chance to take a picture in all my looks but these were my top two favorite. The weather was perfect so I was excited to wear my summer clothes.

I ended up learning a lot more than I thought. Did you know that New Orleans was built below sea level? They actually bury their caskets 4 feet above ground because they have been known to float.

We didn’t get a chance to do everything that we wanted but we did do a lot. I can’t wait to go back!
